Official Launch Workshop of Phase 2 of the project “Strengthening the inclusion and resilience of women and young people in the fight against violent extremism and terrorism, while promoting social harmony and sustainable cohesion”
On Friday, March 28, 2025, YOUTH AWAKE held an official launch workshop for the second phase of its project entitled « Strengthening the Inclusion and Resilience of Women and Youth in the Fight against Violent Extremism and Terrorism, While Promoting Social Harmony and Sustainable Cohesion. » This event was held at the Hôtel Concorde and brought together key stakeholders involved in the implementation. This project is supported by the Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen (IFA) with funding from the German Federal Foreign Office through the ZIVIK funding program. This ceremony brought together a wide range of institutional and community stakeholders committed to countering violent extremism. Stakeholders in attendance included: The event opened with a speech by the Executive Director of YOUTH AWAKE, who outlined the challenges and objectives of this new phase of the project. Subsequently, representatives of the ministries and partners took the floor to express their commitment and support for the planned activities. The representative of the Ministry of Security and Civil Protection officially opened the workshop, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between public authorities, civil society, and local communities to prevent violent extremism. Then, the YOUTH AWAKE Program Manager presented the project’s activities and objectives in detail, highlighting the responsibilities of the various stakeholders involved. This ceremony was a resounding success thanks to the involvement and commitment of all participants. The event strengthened the stakeholders’ determination to actively combat violent extremism and promote a climate of peace and social cohesion within communities. With this second phase of the project, YOUTH AWAKE and its partners intend to continue their efforts by further involving women and young people in conflict prevention and resolution initiatives. A concrete action plan will be put in place to ensure the effective implementation of activities and follow-up on the commitments made at this launch.
