Over 1,000 Trees Planted in Avé 2: YOUTH AWAKE Celebrates National Tree Day 2026

Avé 2, June 1, 2026 – As part of the celebration of National Tree Day, YOUTH AWAKE organized a large-scale tree planting campaign in the municipality of Avé 2, reaffirming its commitment to environmental protection and the fight against climate change.

The activity brought together local authorities, community leaders, youth, women, volunteers, and many citizens committed to preserving natural resources. Together, they planted more than 1,000 forest and fruit tree seedlings at sites identified in collaboration with municipal authorities.

This initiative aims to contribute to the restoration of vegetation cover, strengthen community resilience to the effects of climate change, and promote a culture of environmental stewardship among local populations. The planted trees will play an important role in combating soil erosion, improving air quality, conserving biodiversity, and sequestering carbon.

Beyond the tree planting activity, YOUTH AWAKE also carried out awareness-raising actions on the importance of reforestation and the need to ensure the monitoring and maintenance of young trees. Participants were encouraged to become agents of change by adopting environmentally friendly practices and supporting the sustainable management of natural resources.

In his remarks, the representative of YOUTH AWAKE emphasized that National Tree Day is an opportunity to remind everyone that every tree planted is an investment in the future. He stressed the collective responsibility to preserve ecosystems in order to ensure a healthy environment for future generations.

This activity is part of YOUTH AWAKE’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable development, community resilience, and environmental protection. It also contributes to national reforestation goals and the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 13 on Climate Action and SDG 15 on Life on Land.

Through this exemplary mobilization, YOUTH AWAKE reaffirms its commitment to supporting communities in building a greener, more resilient, and more sustainable future.

“Planting a tree today means offering hope and life to the generations of tomorrow.”
