« Art was chosen to reach the illiterate target audience. According to a study, terrorists use illiterate women and youth to gain information within communities. We must use art to show them how violent extremism and cross-border organized crime manifest themselves, as well as their role in preserving peace, » explained YOUTH AWAKE Executive Director Tobigue Kolani. He added that art allows people to express what words sometimes struggle to say, especially in times of tension or crisis.
YOUTH AWAKE is committed to combating violent extremism and illicit trade. It advocates for peace and security. Its vision is to establish a dynamic community of young people who are passionate and committed to preservation and conflict management to promote stability and excellence.
